Hi! My name is Riana Smith, and I’m so excited to be joining 4th grade as the new Science and Social Studies teacher! I’m a proud alumni of JES and JHS! I graduated from UWF in 2019 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and spent two years working as a Registered Nurse before following my true passion of teaching. I began my journey in education as a paraprofessional in 2022 and have spent the past three years teaching CBSA Pre-K at JES. My husband, Cody, and I are blessed with two wonderful boys, ages 3 and 11 months old, who will one day be proud Royal Cubs! I am so excited for this new chapter and can’t wait to meet everyone!💙🤍🐾

Parents, we will be having our Book Character Parade on October 24th this year! 🎉Plan ahead to help your child dress up and come at 1:30 to watch them parade around the PE track. Whether it's a DIY costume or something store-bought, it’s all about celebrating stories and sparking imagination. Students can stop by the library if they need help choosing a great book! This is one of our favorite events, don't miss it!
~nothing scary please, our Littlest Royals will be enjoying this event and we don't want anyone to be afraid.
JES teachers, staff and bus drivers received a SWEET reminder from our admin team. "We would CRUMBL without you!"

💻🎉 Happy National IT Professionals Day! 🎉💻
Big shoutout to Mr. Allen, our tech superhero at Jay Elementary! Whether it's fixing a laptop, connecting to the Wi-Fi, or helping us figure out why “it just won’t print,” Mr. Allen is always there with a solution (and a lot of patience 😅).

Today, JES took time to remember a very important day in our country’s history. Patriot Day is a time when we honor the heroes and helpers from September 11, 2001, and think about how we can be kind, brave, and caring—just like they were. Our students learned about being good friends, helping others, and showing love for our community. ❤️
We are proud of our Little Royals for showing respect and kindness today and every day!

They also picked up some awesome swag to celebrate making healthy choices! 🎉✨

Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is a 3-tiered evidence-based
prevention framework that leads to reduced exclusionary discipline and improved student
and teacher outcomes when fully implemented. By establishing PBIS, we are developing
skills, enhancing our school environment, acknowledging appropriate behavior, and using
data to identify supports for all of our students and teachers. As a PBIS Model School, we are
committed to the effective implementation of PBIS and are seeking positive outcomes for all!
