🌼 Thank You to the Town of Jay 🌼
A huge thank you to the Town of Jay for supporting Jay Elementary School during last week’s United Way Day of Caring. Volunteers helped clean out and refresh the flower beds around the school, contributing to a cleaner and more welcoming campus for students and staff.
We appreciate your time and effort in helping maintain our school grounds!❤️

Reading Tracker worksheets are due Friday, November 21st.
Correction!! Attention 6th grade band parents. There will be no band class tomorrow, Friday October 24th, if your student is car rider they will need to be picked up at the elementary school car-rider line at dismissal tomorrow. Thank you!
Dear Parents and Guardians,
We have a couple of exciting events coming up at JES:
📚 Book Character Parade
Join us on Friday, October 24 at 1:30 PM on the PE field for our annual Book Character Parade! Students are invited to dress as their favorite book characters and celebrate the joy of reading.
🎉 Homecoming Early Release
Please note that on Friday, October 31, students will be released early at 11:55 AM for JHS Homecoming.
Thank you for your continued support, and we look forward to seeing you at the parade!

Dear Parents and Guardians,
This afternoon, our elementary school will be conducting a practice lockdown drill as part of our ongoing commitment to student safety and emergency preparedness.
Please be assured that this is only a drill and there is no cause for concern. These procedures help ensure that our students and staff know what to do in the unlikely event of an actual emergency.
We appreciate your support in helping us maintain a safe and secure learning environment. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the school office.
Thank you,
Mr. Pape
Remember to join us this Friday at 1:30 PM for our Book Character Parade! We will be out at the PE field.

🚌💛 National School Bus Safety Week 2025 💛🚌
📅 October 20–24
🎯 Theme: “Safe Stops. Stronger Communities.”
Every day, millions of students ride the big yellow bus—the safest way to and from school. But safety doesn’t stop at the bus doors. It takes all of us—drivers, parents, educators, and community members—to protect every journey.
🚨 Did you know?
Drivers illegally pass stopped school buses over 39 million times each year. Every violation puts a child’s life at risk.
Let’s commit to:
✅ Stopping when the bus stop-arm is extended
✅ Slowing down in school zones
✅ Staying alert around bus stops
✅ Teaching kids safe bus behavior
This week, we honor our JES bus drivers and raise awareness to keep our students safe at every stop. Together, we build stronger communities through safer choices.

We were thrilled to welcome the talented performers from Pensacola Opera to our school yesterday! Our pre-K through 3rd grade students had a wonderful time experiencing the magic of live performance and learning more about the world of opera. 🦁💙

🎀 Red Ribbon Week 2025 🎀
📅 October 20-24
Next week, we stand together to promote healthy, drug-free lifestyles and empower our students to make positive choices. ❤️
Each day, we’ll celebrate with themed dress-up days and important conversations about making safe and respectful decisions.
Let's ROAR with school spirit and pride as we commit to living drug-free and making healthy choices! ❤️ 🦁
“Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free.”

Each year, the JES Jr. Beta Club collects pop tabs to donate to the Ronald McDonald House, which helps families stay close to their hospitalized children.
💡 How You Can Help:
Save your pop tabs and bring them to Mrs. Macht anytime during the school year. Every tab makes a difference!
Let’s make this year’s collection the biggest yet! 💪❤️

This year’s theme is “Taste the World: Your School Lunch Passport!” 🌍✈️
From October 13–17, we’re celebrating the global flavors that make our school lunches exciting, nutritious, and fun!

No school for students.
